The Vergilian Bibliography Database is a searchable database compiling decades of scholarship on the Roman poet Vergil. The bibliographic information is drawn from the publications of the journal Vergilius, from volume 10 in 1964 to volume 71 in 2025. Across these years, Professor A. G. McKay and Professor Shirley Werner have compiled categorized lists of recent Vergilian scholarship, along with commentary and analysis of the citations. This project worked to combine all sixty volumes into a full, comprehensive review of scholarship on Vergil in the past six decades. Compiled by Nadya Matish (Kenyon ’27) under the supervision of Professor Micah Y. Myers, this database provides both students and scholars with access to curated sources for the study of Vergil, his works, and his afterlife. This project was made possible by the Beulah Kahler Summer Scholars Projects Grant in the Humanities, Fine Arts, and Social Sciences. It was also created by the programming assistance of Professor Jordan Crouser and Henry Nguyen (Kenyon ’28) and by the assistance of Kenyon’s Digital Initiatives Librarian, Jenna Nolt.
