Dear Bishop
Yours of the 22nd came this Ev. Woods has resigned. Would not Strong do better for Dayton—or Wiley—but of the two cannot Dayton & Springfield be supplied? Ruth has been to Newark & all but two of the vestry are quite pleased with him, + want to [call] him. Woods wants to get to St. John’s. But he is not strong enough.
Yours affectionately,
Chas. P. McIlvaine
I was going to get to say that Paul has not applied to me for a letter.
