3D Hominin Artifact Models

These models were scanned from plaster casts owned by the Anthropology Department at Kenyon College. They mostly represent fossil hominins from sites excavated in the first half of the 20th century, many of which are not available from modern casting sources. They have been digitized and made freely accessible so that they can be used as teaching and learning tools anywhere. As an additional teaching tool, we have created a list of embed codes to "unidentified" versions of the models, which can be embedded in any web page for testing purposes. The casts were scanned by Kenyon students Akarys Yegizbay and Cheran De Silva using a HP 3D Structured Lights Scanner Pro S3 with Dual Camera. This project was made possible thanks to a grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.
