Description
When the lockdowns began I was stationed in Budapest, Hungary completing a Fulbright. I had only been there for a few weeks when the call came to come home. At first I was in denial that this was happening and thought that perhaps I could stay in Hungary but then this was announced and it was clear that if I stayed in Hungary I may not have a way of getting out for a long time. In a matter of hours, I had to frantically pack all my bags and try to get the first flight out of Budapest. It was madness.
