Abstract
"From the entrance vestibule one enters the sanctuary through the northern corridor. The decoration of the sanctuary is also of a richness and scale that scarcely occurs later in the Mamluk period. The mihrab and the qibla wall are splendid examples of elaborate inlaid marble while the minbar and the closet doors are original and high-quality examples of inlaid wood. The patterns of the ceilings, picked out in gold, look like suspended carpets" (161). (See B05.049 for general account of this monument.) (Source: Williams, Caroline.
