Abstract
Although the Friday Mosque at Yazd is dated to Ilkhanid times, the present structure is strictly from the 14th century. This magnificent iwan was added in the reign of Shahrukh, with its minars ranking as the highest in Iran. The patterns and decorations are mainly Muzaffarid in origin, but refined considerably by the Timurids.
