Description

The dealer advertised this item as a stylus, but its function is not clear. It may have been a pin for clothing, or a kohl stick. A similar kohl stick can be found in James Allan, Nishapur: Metalwork of the Early Islamic Period (New York: The Metropolitan Museum of Art, 1982). p. 76, fig. 84.
