One side features the iconography of the Holy Rider, and the other side the evil eye or the much-suffering eye. A Greek inscription is found above the eye: KVRIE / BOHΘI ("Lord help"). For a comparable amulet, see Walters Art Museum, 54.2628.
Purchased from Tetragon, London, on October 16, 1993. Said to have come from Turkey.
