Creator Biography

Yamagata Aritomo 山縣 有朋 (Japanese, 14 June 1838 – 1 February 1922) served as the prime minister of Meiji Japan from 1889–1891 and 1898–1900.

Description

This scroll (2023.7.1) is accompanied by a mounting receipt (2023.7.2) dated 1932 from Kyoto-based mounter Oka Bokkodo.
