The buckle, cast in one piece, consists of a pointed openwork plate in the form of an enclosed cross, with an oval loop. A curved tongue is attached to the loop; on the back are three rings for attachment to a belt. The borders of the plate are decorated with an incised wreath; in the center of the cross is an incised dot-and-circle surrounded by 'rays.' For a comparable buckle, see British Museum, 1984,1004.2.
