1 7/8 x 7/8 in.
Bequest of David P. Harris ('46), 2020
Half of a very small reliquary cross displaying an orans figure with halo. There is no identifying inscription. The figure wears a simple ankle-length robe suggestive of the colobium worn by Christ in early descriptions of the Crucifixon. However, the out-turned feet and bend of the elbows suggests a figure praying rather than hanging on the cross. There are double suspension loops at the top and bottom of the cross.
Purchased from Tetragon, London, in 1992.
