Description
A copper engraving with hand coloring of Salisbury. A border of trees lines the outskirts of the city, which is filled with nearly-identical clusters of houses, occasionally broken by church spires. Salisbury Cathedral towers over the rest of the town in the left of the composition. The background is dominated by hilly farmland and a cloudy sky with occasional sweeps of blue. The image is surrounded by a linear frame intertwined with curling vines.
