Description
The "Isolator" is a sculpture created from 1988 to 1993, a continuation of experiments on sculpture with interest in the topic of sexduality he had in China after he emigrated to Austria. Crafted from oak and painted in bold black and red, the piece consists of a twisted, distorted cylinder resting atop two adjacent hemispheres. The structure is anchored to its base by two slender sticks. Meanwhile, The red teacup-shaped structure on the base echoes the structure above it. (Zhuocheng Jiang '26)
