Description
This work portrays in total of three figures; two of them are facing each other heraldically in profile at two margins of the canvas(though no connection by gaze or body is made between the two figures), and another figure stays in the center of the composition facing the audience (though, again, his gaze is directed away from the viewers). While the two figures from the left are depicted in color, the right-most figure is rendered monochromatically, separating him into another dimension with his peer -- the separation is enhanced also by the veer in background colors of the figure and the two others. The composition of the painting is disturbed by several painted vertical strips, of which may be -- surmised crudely -- painted with the painting underneath reversely. (Jerry Wu'23).
