Soap in the shape of a human hand

Description

"In restless 1990s, when art focused on social themes, Li Qiang's calm 'Soap hands' kept a watchful eye on the self-being of art and was a wonderful conceptual work in 90s. Throughthe contact between duplicated soap hands and real hands, the work reveals the reality of the concept with Escher-typed paradox.'Soap Hands' is the symbolic relationship between reality and prototype. The model hands and real hands make conceptual combination and interaction. Therefore a conceptual pattern is revealed through production and demonstration. 'Soap Hands' is work with a pure, accurate and simple style." (ZHU, "Soap Hands" by Li Qiang, LI Qiang Art Website, available on http://soapliart.com/en/article.htm#1) (Jerry Wu'23).
