Action Art with soap, water, and artist's hands.
Description
For this action art, LI Qiang washed his hands in an apartment in Beijing with soaps in the shape of his own hands (referring to his project "SoapHand" -- available on ZHOU Yan Archive of Contemporary Chinese Art). The entire duration of the washing is around forty minutes; in that course LI Qiang consumed two soaps whose shapes accord with the left AND right hands of the artist respectively. (The back of the postcard which the work is displayed upon is also attached to this artwork entry; it briefs the components of the work. Photographs of the work are also attached.) (Jerry Wu'23).
