Abstract
This summer, I worked to design a set of machinable electrodes and lens holders that would fit into our experiment’s existing vacuum chamber. I used Onshape CAD software to design to-scale parts, and I used Ansys to simulate different electrode configurations and test the viability of various design decisions. With its eventual implementation, the part that I have designed will allow us to apply voltages to electrodes near trapped atoms, giving us the ability to control the electric field at the center of our vacuum chamber for both corrective and experimental purposes.
