A priest's pectoral cross from the reign of Paul I, the front side showing the Crucifixion surmounted by a scroll bearing an abbreviation and the reverse having Paul's cipher, a presentation inscription and the date December 18, 1797. There is a very small hallmark stamp in the center of the bottom edge of the reverse side. The cross retains its suspension chain, half of which has larger links than the other half. There are traces of the original gilt on both sides of the cross, the workmanship of which is very fine.
