more »St. Simeon receives the infant Christ from his Mother, to his right, behind her being St. Joseph. Behind Simeon to his left is St. Anne. Behind these figures is a canopied altar in which hangs what appears to be a lamp. A further structure is seen in the far left background. On the left side of the altar (from the viewer's perspective are the letters MP and on the right side ΘY. The steatite is a light greyish brown in color; there is a chip in the lower right corner. The back of the icon is rough, as if detached from a wall.
