A curved tongue and notched oval loop are hinged to an openwork plaque. The plaque is decorated with incised parallel lines and with circles. There appears to be a cross of small incised triangles both on the tongue and on the terminal disk of the plaque. On the back are two loops for attachment to the belt. The present buckle was believed by the dealer to have come from Lebanon or Syria. For a similar buckle, see British Museum, 1985,1010.1.
