Description

The Board resolves to appoint Bishop Chase, Mr. Clay, and Mr. Wells to a committee to oversee the transfer of funds from England as well as to allow Bishop Chase authority over the sale of lands surrounding the Seminary and College.

Extracts from the minutes of the proceedings of the board of Trustees of the Theo. Seminary & Kenyon College in the Diocese of Ohio, at their sitting in Columbus – June 9th 1826.

Resolved. That the Pres. of this board the Rt. Rev. P. Chase, the Hon. H. Clay & B. Wells Esq. be a committee with full authority to cause to be made a transfer of the funds of the Theo. Seminary of the Protestant Episcopal Church in the Diocese of Ohio, now in England, at such time & in such manner as they think proper, & that the order for said transfer, be signed by the sd. H. Clay & B. Wells & countersigned by the Pres. of this board, & that the sd. Comm. have authority to appoint such agent or Agents as they may thing proper, to effect sd. Transfer, & reinvestment of the same in such american stock as they may deem for the interest of sd. seminary.

At an adjourned meeting of the board of Trustees of the Theo. Seminary & Kenyon College in the Diocese of Ohio held at Worthington June 9th. 1826.

Resolved. That the President the Rt. Rev’d Philander Chase, be & he hereby is authorized to have the lands belonging to the Seminary surveyed & to make provision for the sale of such part as may not be wanted for the Seminary.
