Philander Chase asks Frederick Stahl to read an inclosed extract concerning his debts.
Philander Chase, Frederick Stahl, debt, money, finances
Chase, Philander, "Letter to Frederick Stahl" (1852). Philander Chase Letters. 1377.
To Fred’k Stahl
Jubilee College Feb 5 1852
How can I, or need I apologise for sending you the inclosed Extract? Pray read it; and you will see why I can’t excuse myself in neglecting one whom I so tenderly love, when calling my true friends to a feast of doing good to the Church of God in this and all coming ages
They have offered to compromise for $3,200. This (not the tithe of it) I can not pay and be honest with my real creditors.
Read the Extract which I have copied for your inspection and much oblige
Your faith and affectionate friend Phi’r Chase
