Information Provided by Michael D. Bulmash: Max Amann (1891-1957) was a high-ranking Nazi (and personal friend of Hitler) who used his position as president of the Reich Media Chamber and reich Press Leader to enrich himself personally and become the largest newspaper publisher in Germany (and one of the largest in the world). With the power to seize newspapers that did not tow the Nazi policy line, he was able to purchase them for very little. Thus, Amann made Nazism very profitable for himself.
