Team was sponsored by local African-American business owner Frank L. Turner. Team purportedly played local African-American and white teams as well as regional and national teams that scheduled games while traveling on the circuit. They allegedly played Satchell Paige, the famous Negro Leagues star, at Mount Vernon Athletic Park.
